the corpus counted what discovery found against what is on disk: zod 170 test files, 2 discovered, because its suite sits at packages/zod/src/v4/classic/tests and the walk turned around at depth 4. date-fns 253 on disk, 16 discovered, none of them a real test, because every one of its files is called test.ts and sits beside the function it tests. depth is 12 now, the list cap 4096, the walk budget 200000, and all three announce themselves in discoveryCapped so repair can say the lock covers less than the suite. the twin came from a real repo and narrowed the rule: jinja has one examples/basic/test.py and a src/jinja2/tests.py that is source, and the first pass locked both, so a bare test stem now counts only where the repo repeats it across three directories.
