overview / faq / How much disk does the ledger use?
About 2.7 MB a day, and the gate keeps 30 days of it. Measured on the machine that writes this: 30 days of JSONL in ~/.rabadon/spool came to 82 MB. That is one operator running coding agents hard all day; a lighter session writes proportionally less, because every line is an event that actually happened.
At the start of each session the gate deletes day files older than 30 days, with their .head sidecars. The chain is per day file, so dropping a whole day never breaks rabadon audit for the days that remain; what is gone is gone from usage and audit too.
What you can do about it:
Pruning costs history: bench/precision.py, bench/irreversible.py and rabadon usage read the ledger, so a number measured on days that have aged out can no longer be re-derived on this machine. BENCHMARK.md dates each figure and says which ones that has happened to.
